1978 was Cadillac's last year for the large Eldorado. To commemorate this, Cadillac made a very limited production called the "Eldorado Custom Biarritz Classic". This special build of only 2,000 total units was announced to Cadillac dealers in April of 1978 and was produced between May and July of 1978. The "Eldorado Classic" shared all of the special features of the Custom Biarritz, plus the following distinct additions: Unique two tone exterior of Arizona Beige and Demitasse Brown, dark brown Biarritz-style accent striping, light beige interior trim with dark Saddle leather "pillowed" seat cushion and back rests, light beige Elk Grain Cabriolet-style vinyl half roof, gold-plated Biarritz scripts on the sail panels and deck lid, leather-wrapped steering wheel and color-matched wheel discs. The Classic option was an additional cost of $2,466. All 2,000 of the Eldorado Classics got their special treatment at American Sunroof, located 7 miles from the Cadillac factory in Southgate, MI. At American Sunroof, they received the Demitasse Brown paint to the hood and the front half of the roof. They applied roof caps for the padded Cabriolet-style vinyl half top and the interior rear window trim. The trim down-sized the rear window glass, giving it its unique styled appearance. The stainless steel Biarritz trim molding and special gold-plated Biarritz scripts were added as well as the dark brown exterior accent striping. Out of the 2,000 made 475 had Astro roofs and 25 had power sunroofs. This is one of the 25 sunroof cars. Sunroof/Moonroof
