This is an original, factory installed prototype (0-191598 with a casting date of 5-17-60) fuel injection corvette. Only 1462 were equipped with fuel injection in 1961 and this is one of the first off the line with a serial number of 48. White with gray coves and black interior. A body off frame, nut and bolt restoration on a two owner car all within the same family. Has professionally rebuilt engine, fuel injection unit, 4 sp transmission and completely restored frame, suspension and interior. It was finished with show quality paint, chrome and trim. The 283ci motor originally pulled 220 horsepower but now puts out in excess of 290 with the fuel injection installed. It is coupled with the original factory optioned 4-speed transmission that has also been rebuilt with a new 10. 5 inch, single plate, dry disc clutch going to the stock 3:70. 1 rear-end. The new dual exhaust has been re-installed just as it would have been with the exit tips built into the rear bumper of the car. Everything in the engine bay has been replaced or restored including a complete wiring harness. Again, the exterior of the corvette has gone through a complete and very thorough frame-off restoration with nothing left untouched. It has been repainted in its original cascade green done to absolute show quality.
